On 22-24 October 2018, we took part in the Textile Exchange conference 2018 held in Milan, Italy. The event was an interesting learning experience for us and we would like to share our impressions with you here on our blog.
As of October 2018, Fuhrmann is an official supplier of Textile Exchange’s Responsible Wool Standard certified wool. The certification was obtained for all 12 Fuhrmann managed farms across Patagonia as well as the scouring and combing mill based in Trelew.
After a long winter, spring has finally arrived in Patagonia in the South of Argentina. The best thing about spring is our lambing season when our cute little lambs finally arrive.
As of 15 July 2018, the Fuhrmann shearing season has officially begun. Our shearing season lasts for three months until the middle of October. Two shearing teams travel from farm to farm starting on the farms located in the north-east of Patagonia.

During the last week of May 2018, we had Markaware designer Shunsuke Ishikawa visiting us at Fuhrmann. Markaware is a Japanese menswear label specialised in utility garments. Majority of the Markaware garments are made out of organically grown fibres including organic wool.
Between 13-16 May 2018, the Fuhrmann and Schneider Group team attended the IWTO Congress 2018 in Hong Kong. The IWTO Congress is organised once per year by the International Wool Textile Organisation representing the international wool growing, trade and manufacturing industry.
On Thursday 10 May 2018, Fuhrmann won the 8th edition of the Export Excellence Award in the category ‘Sustainable Export Project’.
A long-term relationship between Chinese wool manufacturers and Argentinian wool suppliers On 13 April 2018, a delegation of the China Wool Industrial Association met in Buenos Aires with representatives of the Federation Lanera Argentina (FLA). The purpose of the Chinese visit to Argentina was to better understand local production and review the Argentinian wool clip.
